Whitecap Goby, Lotilia graciliosa & Red Spotted Pistol Shrimp, Alpheus rubromaculatus
Introduced on the 13th January 2017. The goby managed to find a way through the mesh lid and jumped out of the tank on the 5th June 2017. Very, very sad!

Following the loss of Gordon (Whitecap goby), his partner pistol shrimp (Al) went about his business pretty much in secret, I knew he was still alive by the movement of sand around his burrow entrances. Then in September 2017 I discovered that he'd partnered up with the Nudus goby pair. Fantastic news!
Al outlived both Nudus gobies (the female Nudus goby died in March 2018 and the male September 2019). He carried on alone again until the 12th October 2019 when I introduced another Whitecap Goby. The goby discovered the shrimp on the very first night in the tank and by the following morning they were paired up. They have been inseparable ever since.
